In-person nutritional therapy in Beaverton for digestion, the nervous system and inflammation, with secure video sessions when that suits you better.

A nutrition practitioner in Beaverton

Maria Zilka is a nutritional therapy practitioner (NTP) who sees clients in person in Beaverton, Oregon 97005, in the Portland area. Her work centers on three things that tend to travel together: a nervous system that won’t settle, digestion that stays unsettled, and low-grade inflammation.

You won’t be handed a generic meal plan. Maria starts with how your body got to where it is, then changes things in an order your body can tolerate. Her work runs alongside your medical care, not in place of it.

What people come in for

Areas of focus

Gut health and digestion

Bloating, reflux and digestion that stays unsettled, once your doctor has ruled out anything serious.

Nervous system regulation

Feeling stuck in fight-or-flight, and what food, rhythm and daily practices can do about it.

Inflammation and food sensitivities

Aches, puffiness, brain fog, or a list of problem foods that keeps growing.

Therapeutic diets

Low FODMAP, low histamine, low sulfur and GAPS, each used with a purpose, a time frame and a way back out.

Stress, trauma and the body

How long-term stress shows up physically, and where nutrition fits beside your other care.

Aging well

Energy, strength and calm in the decades when they take more attention.

In person

What an in-person visit involves

  1. A free first conversation

A short call about what is going on, what you have tried and what you hope will change.

  2. A comprehensive assessment

An unhurried first session of about ninety minutes, after a health questionnaire and a three-day food and stress log.

  3. A written plan

Within about two days: food and meal guidance, nervous system practices and daily rhythms, in stages.

  4. Follow-ups

Forty-five or sixty minutes every three to six weeks, in the office or by video.

The full process is on how working together looks.

What a nutritional therapy practitioner is

An NTP works on food and daily habits. Maria does not diagnose or treat disease, and with your permission she coordinates with your physicians, therapists and other practitioners. If you are weighing an NTP against a dietitian, this comparison sets out the difference.
